About me

Hi! I’m Dudolf  (Gergely Dudás in “real life”) and I’ve loved drawing for as long as I can remember. Becoming a children’s book illustrator was kind of a happy accident: in 2015, one of my seek‑and‑find puzzles went viral: a panda hiding among a bunch of snowmen (click here to see!). That little cartoon changed everything!

I mostly work digitally, but I like to mix in ink, watercolour and colored pencils for fun textures. My art is playful, humorous, and kind: I like things that are funny and heartwarming at the same time.

Some of my favorite projects come from creating my own characters. Piggle the Pig was inspired by my own experiences and everyday anxieties. I also love teaming up with other authors, like Beth Ferry. We made the Fox & Rabbit early-reader graphic novels and are currently cooking up a new picture book, Turtle with a Toolbox.

When I’m not drawing, I love hanging out with my wife, our son, and our pet bunnies. I also play guitar, hike, read, try new foods, and explore green spaces around Dresden.
